want to start a nano(a real one)

hey guys, im the one with the 75 gal nano...

I have a 10 gal tank that i want to turn into a nano. i need some advice! what kind of filter do I need? I am planning on taking the water, sand, and lr out of one of my 75 gal tanks so that it is cycled already.
what other considerations should I take?

I think a ac70 hob, with chemipure elite and maybe purigen is all you need. What kind of lights do you have and what would you like to keep?

even with the water and sand and rock from your big tank you should still wait for a week and check the peramiters.

i have a small power head in my ten gallon just for a little extra flow

Good point a 25 or 50 watt heater is plenty. A koralia 1 should do the trick as far as water flow as well.

Go for the Aqua Clear 110 fliter and mod it into a filterrefugium.

That is a good idea as well. So many possibilities with nanos, I love them.

well the canopy has a standard light bulb

in socket. My lfs has little power compacts that have that connection. I will get the strongest one they have.
I want to keep a couple small fish and some easier corals. i guess ac is aqua clear? the ac 110 can be modified into a fuge? thats pretty cool! do I have to have a fuge right away?

what you can do is put chaeto in the back chamber and that acts as a refegium. you can also put crushed live rock in there as well. thats what im gunna do because if you use the chaeto you have to have a live to keep it alive.
