HOw do you go about starting a zoo rock?
Do you have to remove the zoos you have polyp by polyp and glue them to a rock?
Do you just glue the zoos and the whole rock they are attached to, to the other rock?
Different ways to remove zoos from the rock they are one?
Thanks for the help guys

depends on how large the zoas are. You should check out blaine perun's website. http://www.zoanthids.net/ He's the guru.
From what I know, you can perhaps cut off the zoanthid and attach it to a rock using super glue, or string it up with fishing line and a needle. Also, I think you can use some mesh netting and hold it on there.

you can cut the heads off zoos and net them to a rock, or use a chisel and take alittle rock off with the foot, and super glue that to a diffrent rock to start another colony, i only make new rocks when i have a small batch hanging off my current colonys and sell them off when they start to grow
zoas attach fairly fast unlike many corals, but they have to be held in place and not let to move much or it could take quite some time

How do you cut the heads off though? The heads arent to big, seems like they will just be hard to handle when gluing them cuz they arent that big

May have already seen mine but I like showing it off. I just got a nice shaped rock and stated glueing any nice zoanthids I got hold of to it and in about 6 months time, might have been less, I ran out of room. Now onto the next rock. It really is fun doing. Takes time unless you have gobs of different zoanthids, but I think alot of the fun is spent hunting for the nice ones at the LRS and online.

THESE ARE ATTACHED TO A LONG ROCK

THESE ARE ON A LONG CIRCULAR ROCK

THIS LITLE COLONY IS ON A SMALL ROCK

THIS IS ON A FRAG PLUG I PUT TOGETHER

HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT STARTING YOUR ROCK WITH THOSE?

Zoos are on a mat. If you can, grab the corner of it and peel off. Dab a small amount of super glue to back of mat and press onto a rock. Or you can just cut all around them until they are on smaller rocks then glue smaller rocks to a larger one.

ok this is probably going to sound silly but do you really mean superglue? What type of glue is best for gluing various corals around your tank? thanks!

Yes real super glue is fine for the aquarium and wont hurt anything. It is best to deal with the super glue gel

Don't cut the heads off. If you cut you want to cut at the base of the polyp. It would be near impossible to cut the individual heads as they would retract. Also don't forget that zoos release palytoxin which is deadly. Don't let your animals eat a frag you set aside for a minute. Also wear gloves and eye protection.
If I were you I would just take a chisel and break each of the rocks in half or however you want it. Then go to your LFS and buy some apoxy and stick em to your rock that you would like them to grow on. I did this and it is great. My rock isn't anything compared to FLricordia but it is a start.
