To feed berghia - the berghia have eaten the aiptasia I had on my LR and a bunch of babies have hatched and are hungry. I have moved them out of the big tank, but can't find any aiptasia left on the rocks to feed them.

What is a "berghia"?

A nudibranch - the only thing they eat is aiptasia. Great for getting into tiny crevices in live rock, etc.

I have about 100, all different sizes, in a seperate tank that I'm trying to clean up. I hit about 20 of the big one's last night with Joes Juice. I think it would be easier for you to send your nudibranch over here, I let him feed for a month or two, and send him back. Then we both win

There's several of places around the country that sell aiptasia (and even the hatchlings dried) for scientific purposes. The place I was looking at was in South Carolina.
That being said, good luck. They have a horrid hunger for them and will demolish a colony in an enclosed system in a matter of 24 hours when it is a dense population of berghias.

Sorry to say it but you may have to give or sell the nudis to a local reefer that has an aiptasia problem, it would be hard to keep enough to be able to feed them.

Mkzimms - if you only have one, it is easier to apply Joe's Juice or hot boiling water (from a syringe) - and do it soon because that one will eventually multiply if it hasn't already.
CandyCane - thanks, I had looked before, but couldn't find a place. I will try focusing on SC and see if I can find the place.
Alexmir - yep, I trade and sell to lots of folks in the Central FL area - but most I have dealt with in the past are out of aiptasia (dang berghia, they eat like little pigs).

If you offered to sell some. They would be purchased. The temp is rising so shipping should be no problem. BILL

I only sell those that are laying eggs and these guys are way too little right now, probably another four-six weeks once I get to shoveling some food for them.

Woo hooo
.... I now have two tanks almost completely full of aiptasia (never, ever thought I would be cheering about that) - see the pic below to view most reefers nightmare. Anyway, for those who traded with me, I am going to start shipping the berghia next week. You should have gotten an e-mail from me - please let me know if you didn't. Thanks for all your help!!!!

Wow now that looks like an aiptasia infestation. LOL. nice you have those berghias. Hey would it be possible if you could go onto my thread and tell me if this is a aiptasia in my zoo colony ? I try to give it some stuff like joes juice but it doesnt kill it. Seems like just some wierd type of anemone. Wish you could give me an answer. https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/show...=304926&page=4
look at the bottom of that page on the pics. Not meaning to jack your thread, It just seems no one has been able to tell me what they are.
