I just got 1 polyp of Cinnamon Stick (Palythoa Grandis) three weeks ago.
Here is a picture of the mother colony:

there's a bunch on bottom right side of pics, those purple tangs and green cromis are big, as you can see the green paly's are too, not sure of true name, but i've had them now still for 10 years, the person i got it from had them for 8 years, been around for a while, donated to a FSU Marine biologist , i believe coraljunky and groupergenius was there.

this take just got tour down recently.

got one nice frag rock left, about 60 to 70 polyps.

I only have 4. I bought 2 @ 20 each, and they have doubled. I wish they grew faster.

spot feeding will help them develop faster, they are notoriously slow growers. and use caution when handleing them they DO contain palytoxins.

I dont spot feed zoas or regular palys only protopalythoas are really spot feedable <- is that a word? LOL
protopalythoas will eat anything meaty and small enough for them to ingest. you can drop pellets on them, squirt mysis, minced krill, minced whitefish, minced squid, minced... just about anything meaty.

They kinda look like mine when it is partially closed, but it's hard to tell with the blur. When full size and fully open, the head is about the size of a silver dollar.
According to the person I got mine from, he has only seen a green/brown color version and this red/orange version. The red/orange is commonly called Cinnamon Stick. I don't know what the green/brown one is called.
The true name is Protopalythoa Grandis.
The mother colony is now slightly bigger than in the photo and only produces 1 new polyp every other month. He keeps it 14" under 2x65W 50/50 10K/actinic PCs. It is from his Limited Edition collection. He has a reserve waiting list for them. I was lucky enough to get one with a large frag pack I ordered.

they are both the same thing, IME the coloration differences are due to diet and lighting thats it. they arent different species.
protopalythoas are really affected by lighting as to what colors dominate on their surfaces. I have one type of protopaly that, in 4 different locations in my tank look totally different(shape size color and tentical length), but they all originated from the same two polyps. obviously they have the same water conditions except maybe flow (which could affect disk diameter and skirt length) the onyl major difference is lighting. some are in the dark recesses some in the blazing light. the colors are almost totally different. I could sell them as four different types if I was that type of person.
