Just wondering if there should be enough to sustain clean up crew and tang and angel?Or should it cover most of the LR in the tank.

if your tank is young less than 2 months it's probably a form of coraline algae. it is usuallly replaced by purples, pinks, and reds. Is it really bright green?

How large is your tank, how old is your tank, how much LR do you have? You can have lots of nuissance algae and not be able to sustain a tang or angelfish. Unfortunately for many of us, they actually do have some standards on what they'll eat :)

I have 1 scarlet hermit that loves algae discs. He makes a bee line for them when he smells them down stream. I was looking for some vitamins for myself when I noticed I had the pack of algae discs that I used to feed my freshwater algae eater and decided to try one. Yep he likes it.

Right, the clean up crew, for this reason, is usually not that great of a concern. Well, I suppose some snails but there is probably always some algae growth for them. But hermits and other snails are clean up, as in "clean up leftovers" after feeding, or algae, or stuff on LR...they are more opportunistic. A lot of the angels need some algae but they are also generally "grazing" on stuff on the LR, including worms, crustaceans, sponges, algae, etc.
You don't want your LR covered with algae :nope:
