Hmmmm dunno. I have both a yellow-head sleeper goby and a scooter blenny. I don't ever see sand critters anymore 
and I want them... so I'm breeding in a 20 gal to seed the 50 with.
I do think the goby eats them though, because I see him hunt in the LR.

Just a quick word of advice from one who made mistakes make sure you have a cover on your tank cause they like to jump i've lost two already!! and don't plan to keep more
on the other hand it was the best fish in my tank even though it lasted only one week.
Make sure you have a lot of sand and sturdy rocks because they like to make little hiding spots and if your rocks aren't sturdy for sure they're comming down!
Mine just cleaned my sand and he never ate anything else but its a great fish!!
