Water bubbling over :P. Help

Ok so I wake up at 5 this morning and there is water all over the bottom of my stand. The tube on the right side that feeds down into my tank has big "burps" and splashs water into my stand
. I put two airline tubes in to overflow to burp it, but they don't help. I even drilled two holes into the tubing and cut it shorter, but it only delays the problem o once every 3 min or so. I was suggested to build a durso, but I dont know how I can fit one as I have a HOT oveflow. I am thinking of making a acrylic top and siliconing in to the top, with a fitting for the draining water. How does that sound? I don't think it would help because of bubbles being trapped in it, and busting the top off. Help lol. Also would a split return inside the HOT fuge help spread and lessen? I need this to work as I am ruining the carpet and i have little money.

Check out "Stockman overflows" and "Hofer Gurgle buster" both are designed with HOB overflows in mind. Both are simple and inexpensive to build and work well, I am currently using a one that is a combination between the two designs.
