water change question

When doing my bi-weekly water change for a reef tank i know i need to make sure salinty and ph are the same as the tank, but do i also get the calcium and dkh levels to be the same as the main tank? Or do i just check the parameters after the water change and take it from there?
(guy at the lfs told me he sees no reason why you should have to add calcium to a reef tank)
Thanks

i wouldnt go to so much trouble. as long as the ph is close and the gravity is similar, you should be ok. the salt mix will give you calcium. so it will read high.
