Water change

I know I should do some kind of water change every 2 weeks to a month.
the rate of evaperation in my tank is about 3-4 gallons per month... thats letting the Wet dry run from 3/4 full to 1/4 empty.
I have a 92 gal tank btw, its freshly started, only have a convict tand a snowflake eel and an enonme in there. (2 dominos also but plans to remove soon) before they get nasty.
should I actually drain some? or will just adding water and salt be enough?

well first of all you are supposed to add what is referred to as top off water. you add that everyday, to make up for the evaporated water. it should not have any salt in it because water evaporates, salt does not. when it comes time for a water change you drain out the water you want to change and put in the new.

ok thanks, I'm a new to salt. I've ran chiclid tanks for years now. finally lost my 75 tank... had a seal blow... so i bit the big one and bought a saltwater setup.
thanks for the info. so top it off every so often, then actually drain.
Should I drain from the sump, or the actual tank. The bottom so far is fairly clean, I plan on getting a clean up crew from here in a few days, because its starting to get a bit ugly.
