Water change

I am in the midst of my cycle, my ammonia spiked the first week but now is low, however the nitrites and nitrates are now very high. My LFS says to make 20% water changes daily throughout the cycle. Is this correct?

Your LFS is on crack and is trying to sell a lot of salt. Wait to do your first water change till the cycle is over.
