my tank( 30 gal ) is still cycling, i checked the nitrite level 2 days ago and it was sky high. I checked today and my Ammonia is 0, nitrite 0 and nitrate 0 as well. The thing is i used tap water and was wondering if i need to do a water change to add some filtered water to my system.
I have a whole bunch of feather dusters appearing on my live rock. I have 20lb of LR and 20lb of LS in my system.

Hi you may wish to start using distilled water or think about R/O your tap water may carry high phosphates and silcates as well as some higher nitrate and amo, the phosphate and silicates will give you bad algie blooms ones you dont wish for. goodluck, Missy

Have you located a Tap Water purifier yet? If not email me at BurnNSpy@aol.com and I will help you.
Your water sounds okay for now, you need to test for phosphates also. If that is zero then you have exceptional water and may use your tap water for the tank, provided you run activated carbon just in case the water has trace heavy metals.
