Water Changes and Food

Hello everyone, just wanted some advice on water changes for my 90 gallon fish only tank. What I am asking is during a water change for this size tank approx. how much water would you change out. I've been changing about 15 gallons. Just curious if this is too much or not enough.
I've also read how some people make their own fish food. Any advice on this also will be appreciated. I'd really like to try it.
Thanks for everything.

There are as many opinions on water changes as there are hobbyists. Much depends on filtration, feeding, bio-load, etc. A lot of literature suggests about 20% a month and you're doing that. Should be fine. Search this forum for several good food home-brews.

if I was u I would do 15 gallons a week
and feed them a combo of frozen brine and flake with some garlic additive
everyother day with alge sheets on odd days if needed for tangs and angels

I was changing out 35g on my 90g once a month, now I do 12g every other week. The more often you change, the less water you have to do. Some folks do a gallon a day.

The key on maintaining a tank IMHO is to get the tank iteslf doing the work not the water changes. that way the water change schedule is not a factor.
I have made food by using sea food (shrimp, scallops, squid etc etc) from a local grocery store and blending it into a mush. Then rolling it flat and freezing it. You can even use 1/4" square egg crate to make cubes.
