Water Changes....

It's pretty much time for me to do my water change and I was wondering how much I should switch out, percent wise? Last months water change if I recall correctly I switched out around 20%, but that was after the cycle. Is 10% per month good or is that too little? I have a 38 gallon tank with around a 3" sand bed. Any opinions??

IMHO, 10-20% is fine but you should also check your H20 parameters frequently and if the nitrates and nitrites stay low you are doing the right amount of changes.

I run a 20g and change about 5-10% a week.
Unless you have a water quality emergency, I would not change more than 25% at once.
If your water chemistry looks good, you can change a smaller amount. If (for example) your nitrates are getting elevated, you may want to change a larger amount. Whatever seems to work for you.

I'll probably do a 10-15% change. Water quality is fine but wanna make sure it's close as possible to perfect.
