water changes

i know you need to do a 10% water change every week but how?

in a 58 gallon, once it is running, I would do no more than 10%every week, if it is well established, and going good, 5% would be good enough
just siphon(pythons work good, just don't get it down in the sand) out an equal amount or scoop out with a clean unused(not washed because of the detergents in soap!) pitcher, then replace with dechlorinated saltwater, best to circulate in a bucket(again clean and unused)for a couple of days with an airstone or powerhead first

I do about 20-25% once a month. More frequent and smaller changes may be more ideal but not as practical. I make my own water using an RO filter a day or two ahead of time. I make about 30 gallons in a trash can dedicated to just this. I remove the same amount from the tank using one of those hand held gravel vacuums that work by gravity. This allows me to remove alot of the junk from my crushed coral. This is removed into a second trash can. I then use a pump to pump out the dirty water into a sink in the room. I use another pump then to pump the new water from the first trash can into the tank.

In my 54 gallon atleast 10% if not more evaporates out through my wet/dry, if I just replace that is this sufficent?? I've been doing this for the past six months and all my tests read great.

okay how exactly do you mix salt water do you just put them in a bucket and stir. do you have to do other things

yep, put he water in a bucket and add some de chlorinatet, circulate, tehn add salt and stir, tehn test, then, as I said run with powerhead or air stone for a day or 2, that is it
