water changes

I've read a lot of different opinions on which kind of water to use when doing routine water changes. I normally just use tap water for my daily "top offs". This is my first major water change. What is the best water to use? I see this RO water is all over this site...where can you get this stuff? Is spring water directly from a local spring best? Distilled water? Tap water(city water)? I want to cause as little stress to my guys as possible. Most of them are still fairly young (tank is approx 4 months old)
Suggestions please. Thanks

You can find RO or RO/DI water at your local fish store. It's the best water to use for your marine aquarium. Spring and tap water will contain excess nutrients that you do not want in you aquarium. Excess nutrients will almost always guarantee you algae problems at some point. Also with tap and spring water you are risking introducing dangerous metals and other dangerous contaminants into your system. I'm not sure about distilled water. By the way, welcome to the boards.
