Okay so I got a new tank and im a beginner.....should i have anything besides the filter/skimmer that should be in the tank....something like an "air hose" to get the current moving good?

Most will stear you away from airlines in the marine environment...they tend to create excessive salt creep with the bubbles bursting.
As mentioned...powerheads or internal water pumps will do what you need.
Some of the better ones are the mag drives, the Marineland line and myself, I have had pretty good luck with some of the older AquaClear powerheads.

The rule of thumb for a reef tank is 10 to 20 times gph turnover rate.:happyfish
