Q: What color should the water in your reeftank be? I mean if you poured it into a white bucket.
I siphon the old water into a white 5 gal bucket for my water changes and its always light pink?
I have a 27g Tall reeftank wiith crushed coral and live rock. Water test show (PH-8.2) (AMMO-0.5) (NITRITE-0) (NITRATE-0) (ALK-1.1)
WARNING: I buy water from the LFS. I buy it in those standard 5g containers. Well the other night I picked up the container and the handle and most of the top ripped off and 5g of saltwater was all over my livingroom. I have Hardwood floors and area rugs. Ended up having to throw out one of them.
I rememebr that I kept the containers in my backyard deck and figured that the sun may have damaged it.
So I went to my local Ace hardware and bought a heavy duty container... one for transoporting kerosene for $7. This should be tough enough!
The Gasoline containers were very thick-walled but they were also $25.
Life's a bunch of hard lessons!

Pink????????
My water is clear. Is the water clear from the store you buy it from?
If so, is something leaching from the bucket or your tank?
What color is your CC? Pink?
I would check it out. It may be nothing, but better safe than sorry.
