water displacement ????

Does anyone have a ballpark figure or rule of thumb for amount of water displacement per pound of live rock??? Thanks

Don't have a good answer for you. I got several types of lr and some was a lot more porous than the other and didn't displace as much water. If you are planning on adding lr, I just mixed up a batch of saltwater, siphoned out a few inches of water, put the lr in and then topped off with the fresh water. Got a small water change out of the deal. :D Didn't answer your question, but hope that helps.

to give you some idea, I just added the final 54lbs. of live rock and that displaced about 3-3.5 gallons of water. I ended up siphoning 4Gals out in one my 5 gal. buckets, but I had to add some back in when I was done playing in the water. So with this florida rock, it was what about 15lbs. to a Gallon displacement. So, following that rule, if I have about 155lbs. of live rock, I'm displacing about 10gal. Hope that helps, Dave ;)
