question about a powerhead I have but not using, I have a aqua clear that has a canister on the bottom of it .Is it ok to use just the top part that has the proppler in it with out using the whole thing. when I used this before it was hooked to my uv filter ( not using any more ). just looking to get more flow.

what size tank? how much flow do you already have? what pumps ar you using and how much head loss? (just a rule of thumb you should have atlest 10x water turnover in your GPH)

tank is 65

I use a canister filter with flow bar on top of water not sure of how much it pumps.
just concerned if this powerhead is ok to use with out the bottom filter attached?.
