Water mix containers?

What containers do folks use to mix water for changes? A friend of mine uses white plastic kitchen "wastebaskets". I know you don't want to use anything with antimicrobial/antifungal additives. Anyone know if Sterilite brand is safe? Their site FAQ claims their products are all safe for food storage with no fungicides or antimicrobial chemicals ect. I like the wastebasket idea since it will not take up much space both in and out of use.
