Hello
I have a 10 g. mini reef with 20lbs live sand (about 3.5 inches on the bottom) and 15 lbs live rock. The tank has been running for about 6 months. The tank is at college, and I am home for break. I have been stopping by every few days to check on it, and everthing had been going ok. Today i went to look, and the water is very green. The light was on, and my guess is that it was left on for about 5 days. I tested the water, and levels are decent (pH is a bit high). Here is what I did:
Cleaned out sponge in powerhead for the protein skimmer
Turned out the light
Attached a 2nd filter with sponge filters and activated charcoal
topped off the tank with fresh spring water
Will this clean up the water, or should I do a water change (i didn't want to do too much at once). Thanks for your help.
