Water Quality Question

I have a post in the Diseases section under "Total Tank Whipeout". 12 days ago somone trying to help me while I was on vacation put 3 ounces of PH buffer and 3 ounces of dry pellet food in my 125 gal FOWLR at one time killing almost all inhabitants. Since then, I have syphoned up as much of the rotting food as I could see and have changed about 25% of the water while cleaning out my Fluval cannister filter twice. I also treated with AmQuel. My water parameters are now 1.024 SG, 8.2 PH, 0 ammonia, 0 Nitrite and 20 Nitrate. The PH is slightly lower than the usual 8.4 I had previously. Are there any lasting affects of the buffer? I have one remaining Chromi that seems very health. Any reason I should not add a couple of fish, cleaner shrimp and emerald crabs? Thanks
