I set up a 20g rubbermaid trash can for a ATO, i drilled 2 holes in the PVC to relieve the pressure when the ball valve is closed and that also circulates the water, idk about doing it for saltwater but I think if you use a heater and keep it well circulated it will stay fine for a while.
