Water Temp

My water tem is at 80-81 degrees. Is this too high?? Also i am wondering how u write back to someone who has responded to your question... if you are out there oceanblue please give me your email.

That's not too high. 78 would probably more optimal for a FO tank.
86 or higher is too high.
My tank spent many days hovering around 86 with no ill effects this summer.A day or two with the tank over 90 will cause deaths tho.
Remember tho to make temp changes gradually.

Thanks Rich... i am putting an air conditoner in the room next to the one with the aquarium.. this should help to cool it a little bit.

if you need any additional information on the subject, you can make a search (click on the top right of your screen). There has been a lot written on temp difference already. The key is to avoid quick temp fluctuations which will add stress to your fishes. If you temp is 80 but remains at 80 most of the time, it's not that bad.
