yes you do. the frequency all depends on your water params and your stocking levels. i think everyone has a different routine. i would recommend no less than 20% every month and no more than 10% every week. after your tank is up and running for a while you'll start to have a feel for when your tank needs a change. star polyps are generally hardy, but when my nitrates start to rise mine seem to open a little later in the day and close a bit earlier than normal.
