Anyone ever heard of Waterweld? It is by J-B Weld, and it says can be used underwater...It doesn't mention fish tanks, but says can be used for plumbing, so I figure if we can use it on our pipes it would be safe for fish
ANYONE KNOW???

i'd say that just b/c it can be used on our pipes doesnt mean it's safe on our tanks. i mean, half the time the water we drink isn't really good for our tanks in the first place.

+1. They say you can drink the water that touches it, but we also drink chlorine, cloramines, copper, alumn, silt, algae and bacteria. IMO, as long as it is not mold and mildew resistant, it should be ok.
Though, if you have a leak in a glass tank, I suggest using silicone and if you have a leak in an acrylic tank, I recommend using weld on #16.

Your wet/dry sump is brand new, doesn't it have a warranty ? Or did you get it used ? Use aquarium silicone.

It's new, but remember I have to order everything, and I just figured if I could fix it, it would be a lot less trouble....I already took my old skimmer off, and don't want to have to mess with putting everything back on.

Seriously, if it is glass, use silicone, if it is acrylic, use weld on #16... That's what it's made for. I wouldn't go use some product that may or may not work, and which is not "proven" to have the ability to be used in a closed ecosystem like our aquariums.
Just my opinion.
