ABOUT 6 MOS. AGO THIS BEAUTY STARTED TO GROW IT STARTED OUT A LITTLE BLACK SMUGE. HERE IT IS ABOUT 6" X 7". AT FIRST I THOUGH IT WAS A CORAL I LOOKED AT EVERY BOOK I OWN, NO SOAP .NOW I THINK IT'S A SPONG? WHAT DO YOU THINK. :notsure:

looks kool but i also see the caraline in the background looks great what size tank and what lights are u using

That my friend is a black sponge REEF SAFE!
I have tions of this stuff growing in my reef tanks......It turns black in the shade, and white in the light!
This satuff stings human skin badly, not the bottom of your hand, but the top,wrists arms etc. no big deal but does hurt minutly....

I never wear gloves my reef is like a china cabnet 100s of corals, mostly sps, so gloves just don't work.
The sting won't hrt ya....wellllll.....not to bad I guess, lol
They spawn in the water(harmless) and grow everywhere...they branch up, though very eacy to break off, neat though!
Good for your tank to!
