I know this sounds stupid, but don't both wave makers and power heads do the same thing, circulate the water? Will some one explain this to me. When setting up my tank I need to know if I have to have both...Thanks
A wave maker (which usually uses powerhaeds) creates random water movement. A powerhead genrally shoots water at one spot all the time no movement in direction.
