Wave Making in Reef Tanks

I am in the process of planning to set up a new 156 gallon reef tank. My experience thus far has limited me to circulating water within a tank using
maxi jets set up and running continuously. I would like to consider installing
a 'wave similator'....anyone have any comments on a good control unit...any pitfalls you are aware of from your experience in setting one up?

Perhaps you should look into wave2k wavemakers since you are in planning. This could keep your aquarium free of power heads, cords and clutter. I just ordered a corner unit for my acrylic 55. It should arrive sometime this week.

Thanks for the reply 'REV'...anyone have one of these units or another way of creating waves that they are happy/unhappy with?

I woyuld recommend NOT using a scwd on a closed loop. It works ok, but the scwd reduces the flow pressure to much. I have one on a 700 gph mag pump and the swithcing current is nice but the flow is just barely there...

I am thinking about getting rid of my scwd and putting in a sea swirl instead. they are supposed to be really nice.
