If you have a tank 17inchs tall and the standard wave2k unit is 17inchs tall, Could this work? Would it overflow the tank? I never seen this unit before.
Thanks

sweet I love wave2K threads. the inventor lives a half hour away from me so I went and paid him a vist. real nice guy. no that unit would not work IMO I wouldnt put it anything smaller than 20 high. he dose sell a 13 x 13 unit that would work great though

i want one for my 90 but the glass center brace gets in the way so the only one i would be able to get is a corner unit

love it when I start learning somthing I go all out on it. rodi sumps and wavemakers Im all over. with the wave2k I set up a bunch of wave makers tunze maxi jet red sea. I took all that my lfs had and played with them to see what they did different from one another then I started droping by friends houses to see there stuff. the wave2k was the only one that didnt just toss water from one side of the tank to the other. the tunze would spin the water in a more broad pattern but none the less its just tossing. with the wave2k it rolls the water and creates a constent movement all over the tank at all times imo myfav toy in this hobbie. I think the 13 incher will be fine for your 75 the 16 inch will fit but you dont need it

Is there adjustment issues still with the units as before Patrick? That's what discouraged me from even looking at them.....I've heard people having issues with adjustments and bands or something breaking?

My tank I want to order is 36 x 24 x 17inchs tall. This tank is also rimless. I watched the video (wave2k.com), it doesn't seem to make a huge wave on the surface. The unit is 16.25 inchs tall, If I place the unit on the floor I want to make sure I don't overflow the tank.
If I order the 13inch unit, there would be 3 -4 inches of tank under the unit. How does this affect flow?
How big is the hole that sucks the water in and out? Any chance of a fish being sucked in?
Sorry for all the dumb questions.

he switched from a polyband to a more dense type of plastic that is groved like the chain on a -- car baiscly eleminating breaks and cutting down the whole readjusting of the unit. once you set it up you have to play with it for a cupple min before it sounds right but it good to go after that

the only dumb questian is the questian never asked
to be honest even with 3 to 4 inches from the bottom of the unit to the sand bed you will still need to inststall the sand diverters he sends with the unit the wholes on my units are around 1/2 of a inch by 3 inches. this unit puts out A TON of motion but the thing that sells it so well is its not a violant motion. i doubt youll get a fish stuck in there because it is pusing water out as much as is sucking water in. the unit is ment to sit at the top of your tank and sits just below your water line. this makes your openings about 2 inches below the water so you dont have a big wave but you do see the water rippleling

Hey Patrick!!!!! Do you have any pics of the unit before you installed it in your setup? I'm toying with the idea and with James on new tank build about installing such a wave unit, but in a external "overflow" style box to keep tank perfectly clutter free and clean.....Any pics would be fantastic.
