Way to much coraline

I have wonderful coraline algae growth. It covers the back of my tank beautifully but on the front at the bottom I have some that no matter how much I scrub at it I can't clean. Is there something to use that would make this come off easier?

I scrape mine off w/a razor blade. But only use one if you have a glass tank! Don't use on acrylic. I hate the corraline, it is a major pain!

Use a credit card. It won't scratch your glass and it works wonders. Expect the coralline to be semi hard to get off.

No knowing the size of your tank a good idea is to get a wooden dowel cut a thin slot in it push the credit card in the slot it keeps your hands out of the water

I think scraping the stuff is a endless chore!!!

But this little Kent thing seems to work as well as anything I have seen. Also the blade is replacable.... About 8 bucks.........Much wider than a razor blade, and faster too.
But Glass only tanks............................... Warren

It would be easier and faster for you to buy a piece of rock from your lfs with some on it and add it to your tank. Also long as you have a little in your tank and water levels are maintained then in a few months you'll have plenty starting.

I think it's very aesthetic - nice pink/purple look. It's all over the bank and one side of my tank (I only clean the front and the viewable side). I bought a scraper and it works wonderfully (I have a glass tank). I do use the magscraper at least every other day, too.

I'm glad you posted a pic of that so now I know what to get. Scraping w/a razor blade takes forever.

After you scrape the coraline algea off the glass, do you remove it from your tank, or leave it? just curious.

Google the term "Kent scraper" . There are several models and sizes out there. I got mine at one of the LFS's.. I found the short one gives the best leverage at taking the crap Coralline) off if you are one that does not mind having your arm in the tank regurarly.........Warren
And to those who think they need more coralline, wait a while and see if you still want the stuff

Nope no way to do that easily, it just keeps spreading more.
