Or if you acctually want to cut a larger muchroom, just make sure each piece gets some of the mouth in it and put it in a container with rubble and a mesh then back into the tank. should take about 3-4weeks for the pieces to grow into baby shrooms.

very interesting, what ever happen to all those people that posted in that thread anyway??
I am going to do it with a red mushroom and put it in my QT tank.....
just curious speg, what do you think it would mess up in a DT?
One question though, was he saying at the end, that they would only stay about dime sized or would they keep growing

I would only imagine that any pieces that didn't find a place to grow (those that go under a rock or sucked into the filter, etc) would die and possibly cause an ammonia spike in the tank. The dying ones would be my main concern.
If it's going to be done it would probably be wise to start with a small, single mushroom.
Good luck.

Do let us know how it goes!
One idea would be to blend and then get a small plastic bowl/cup and place crushed coral in the bottom and then add the blended shrooms...cover with some small-holed netting and let them attach in there. That way you're not losing a bunch of pieces under the rockwork.
