Weed issue

A piece of coral I purchased a few months ago had soem green weeds attached to it... they looked good. Over a few weeks time they grew slowly, gradually up the side of a rock... and they looked very good.
The problem is, they are now overwhelming the tank and are literally engulfing the rocks and I rip tons of them off every day and they grow back very rapidly...
What animals can I get to eat those? emerald crabs?

Do you have a photo, or can you discribe what it looks like? IME, there's no single animal that will eat every kind of algae, so it helps to know what you're dealing with.

sounds like a micro alage attack.
Pics would help but I agree with emerald crabs or lawnmower blennie and or a tang depending on kind of micro size of your tank and other critters living in there already.

10 to 1 that you had high nitrates that feed it.
10 to 1 that this weed problem won't lead to getting the munchies...
