weird alkilinity and calcium problem

I have the following readings right now in my tank and I always thought the calcium and alk balanced off each other. 1 up/1 down...etc.
alkilinity - 17 (should be 10-12)
PH - 7.4 (really low)
calcium - 520 (little high but OK)
what causes this and what can I use to correct this?

Also what kind of test kit are you using and are you sure they are good? Do you have someone who could double check your readings with different test kits? Have you been dosing anything?

Dosing calcium incorrectly will do that.

Before anything can balance.
You'll need to kick-back on the buffers..
2nd, you should do a 50% waterchange.
3rd, how's your magnesium, nitrates,phosphates,nitrites.?
There's numerous reasons why cal/alk don't equillibrate,
Such as, water chemistry is fouled, too many buffers/additives,not performing regular waterchanges, low magnesium.ect.
