So I walk by the tank when i stop to check out the two gold striped maroon clown fish, when I notice the female suddenly throwing up some food from this afternoon.. it was the omega one natural protein formula. I don't over feed, i give them a few flakes, but I notice she never lets the male eat. Is it possible that she may have done it to feed the male? or is something wrong? I notice the coral she was hosting closed after she did it and now it's taking a little while to open... what's going on?
sorry about the quality of the pictures, but i was using my cell phone to take it since i dont have a digital camera

the first two are just pictures before the incident, like a day before, the rest are recent

the female began throwing up some food i fed her earlier in the day near the mushroom, then the mushroom just closed suddenly but the male began taking the food she threw up. after a while the mushroom opened up again though

the mushroom closed because it was eating the food. I dotn know why the clown regurgitated.

do your clowns try to host in the mushrooms. If so she may have been trying to feed the mushroom they do this sometimes with anemones.

Sorry, I just saw this. Yes, she does host it. Just recently i moved a colony of zoanthids away from the mushroom since they were too close, but she lost a little interest in it.
I didn't know that she was trying to feed him, thats really cool and interesting. I just thought maybe she felt bad for the male and was giving him some food since she always swims to the top and takes the food first. thanks!
