Is this common? I have two yellow tailed damsels; they're normal for half the day, and for the other half they hide under a rock. It's almost like clockwork.
I would say that if there is no sign of disease,yes this is normal for them.I have 2 damsels in my hospital tank who stay in one corner most of the day.Is there anything else in the tank?Are you just starting your tank?
I have a yellow tailed damsel. He swims around during the middle of the day; but soon after feeding he is back in his hiding spot. He gets up late also, only the dragon wrass sleeps longer then him. I would say that is normal for them. It is their routine.
