i was driving yesterday and the thought crossed my mind of whether it would be possible to have an oyster in a tank. i think it would be awesome to "grow" a pearl over a while and give it to the wife.

They tend to live in mud though, so I don't know how ls or cc would work for them

All the oyesters I've ever gotten in the wild to eat came out of cold water. There are some varities out there for home hobbyist... but nothing you are thinking of that could produce a pearl.

Takes bout 10 years to make a pearl. If you get one, your lucky.
