weird zoa thing

I got some new zoanthids and they havent opened in the now 3rd day. half are closed like normal but the ohter half are closed but also look like they are "throwing" up their insides because they are closed but theres weird little blobs on the tips where they fold in. Its hard to get a pictures but its like white and black blobs on top of the opening where the zoa normally folds out

Even if some of them die off, the ones that are open will spread and start a colony. I wouldn't worry if some of them die off, it does happen sometimes.

yeah im not worried yet, im just hoping the ones that dont have that on them open up. I had another question. If i noticed small things crawling on my zoanthids looked like snails sorta but they had long bodies so im assuming they were nudibranches. How would i go about doing a freshwater dip?

I would do an iodine dip IMO. Lugols sells a concentrated iodine dip for corals. It sounds to me like you may have a zoa pest of some sort, but I cant say for sure.

If you don't have lugols, then do a FW dip. Just take a bowl and fill it with enough RO water to cover the polyps. Try and let the water warm up to room temp at the very least. Drop in the zoas and watch for critters and nudi's bailin' out ! Leave em in for 5 minutes.

sigh, they are definitely dead, they have been a slow dinner for my sexy shrimp and bristle worms the last 2 nights. They look terrible. Think i should remove them due to the ammonia and other bad things they may give off or just let my bristles and sexys munch it down.
