Well did Obama play the race card?

I read this one. Not surprising. If he included the Geriatric, White, and Wealthy individuals in that statement, do you think any of them would vote for him? That's the demographic and voting base of the Republican Party. Sure he's alienating this group, but he wouldn't have their support in the next election anyways. Guy just called it as he saw it.

So if I ran for public office and called for all whities to vote me in, you wouldn't see a problem with that?

If the majority of people that lived within your district were white, probably would be a good bet you'd win. There's been elections won all over this country based simply on race. The East Side of San Antonio is primarily African American and Hispanic. I can't remember the last time a white person won a City Council seat in that district, if ever. They always vote 'for their own kind'. Could you get away with that at the State or National level? Doubtful. The various races that make up the 'Melting Pot' in this country are too widespread. Wait until they finish with this 2010 Census, and compare those numbers to 2000 when it comes to the percentages of the various races that live in this country today. See how much the percentage of Caucasians has shrunk over the last decade. Shoot, my Census had a specific question asking me if I were Hispanic. Why do you think they did that? Which party do the Hispanics normally vote for? Then ask why Obama made that statement.

With all due respect to my fellow middle-aged, white men of America.....I must agree with this statement.
He didn't get my vote before, so why the hell would he target me now? My vote was not based on race, but yes, he is working the race card like a girl in high heels working main street on a Sat. night.

I think his approval rating shows that he won't be president after this term... hopefully... this coming from someone who was firmly on his side before he was elected.

What is really sad is when you have 90% of a race voting as a block. And how has that worked out for them?
Obama ran as this great uniter. Not a lot uniting about that ad.

Raising taxes doesn't mean raised revenue...

Doing it right does. That means taking something from the 47% who pay nothing or actually get paid for working now.
My kids paid in 900 bux this year and between EIC and child care credits they got a "refund" of several thousand. I am glad my kid gets some help, especially being active duty military but I am sorry, this is just wrong.

Just wait. It will get worse.
"Those longer-term projections assume that the provisions of H.R. 3962 are enacted and remain unchanged throughout the next two decades, which is often not the case for major legislation. For example, the “sustainable growth rate” mechanism governing Medicare’s payments to physicians has frequently been modified to avoid reductions in those payments, and legislation to do so again is currently under consideration in the Congress. The bill would put into effect (or leave in effect) a number of procedures that might be difficult to maintain over a long period of time. It would leave in place the 21 percent reduction in the payment rates for physicians currently scheduled for 2010. At the same time, the bill includes a number of provisions that would constrain payment rates for other providers of Medicare services. In particular, increases in payment rates for many providers would be held below the rate of inflation (in expectation of ongoing productivity improvements in the delivery of health care). "
Meaning if congress follows what they have done in the past regarding these items, the healthcare bill will not be deficit "nuetral" and will not "save us 100 billion" over 10 years. In fact it will add an additional 100 billion to the deficit on top of the total cost of this bil.
Vat tax, car tax, pee tax, crap tax, cap and trade tax, spitting tax.....they will have to tax everything.
