were could i possibly get eggcrate that everyone has been using for coral propogation tanks? I can never find any anywhere.

Try any big box home improvement store. 2' x 4' panels of it should be available in the suspended ceiling section. The stuff is commonly laid into ceiling grid and used as a lighting diffusser.
