Wet/Dry Filter Setup questions

Hi, I'm a newbie setting up a 46gal FO tank and I bought an Aqua Clear 75 Wet/Dry filter. I also got the CAP 2200 as a return pump. My question is that the CAP 2200 sucks out water faster than the intake siphon. Is there any way to adjust the return pumps volume? I looked but couldn't find anything useful. Or could my siphon water pressure not be fast enough?
TIA

It souns like the CAP2200 (800gph at 0 head) is pumping more GPH than your wet/dry can handle. I believe that the wet dry you have has a max flow rate of 300 GPH.
How high is the return for the tank in feet?
Also the water level in the wet/dry will need to be higher than the water line with the pump off to accomodate for having water in the return and drain line, so when you first turn on the pump it will lower the water level before evening out. Make sense?

Also the CAP2200 should have come with a inline valve that you can use to throttle back the flow so your wet/dry can handle.
I would also consider getting a better pump as I had a CAP2200 and almost everytime the power went out the pump wouldnt restart on its own, I had to take it out and clean it and then it would restart. Look into a mag drive.
