Wet Dry Plumbing

Is it a bad to have a metal clasp holding my return hose to my pump in the wet dry? My concern is the clasp will rust and or contaminate the water. I tried a plasic strip tie but it is not tight enough.

Even the high quality stainless steel hose clamps have non stainless parts in them.And it WILL rust.I tried it,trust me,,,,they do rust...

S.S. clamps are ok, they may rust but that is over a extended period of time. If you are the type to perform regular maintanence, then you will see any rust starting to form and can replace the clamps. If you usually do not like maintanence work, I'd pass on it. Plastics are of course better.

The ss clamps are fine to use. It takes a long time for them to rust unless they are continuously splashed with water.
