I was going thru the July issue of FAMA when I cam across this article about the Osaka Aquarium in Japan. In their "Ring Of Fire" aquarium they managed to keep a Whale Shark, this is news to me! Wow

The aquarium sounds like a fantastic place to visit, too bad you would have to travel all the way to Japan to see it though.
If you read up on it they also keep many other fish in the whale shark exibit including sharks, rays, and tuna.

I think they actually have two at the Ring Of Fire in Osaka. My wife and I just spent the past two years in Tokyo, never did make it down to see that aquarium though. As a diver I tend to want to wait to see one out in the wild though where it belongs, they are just to big and wonderful to be kept in captivity.
As a side note, down in Okinawa there are also some fishermen who keep one or two in a netted in lagoon and for $100 or something you can go diving with them. Again, not my cup of tea but its out there.

Is that pic on skilos reply the actual shark. If it is are they supposed to be that thin in the midsection. I think it's terrible, but if it brings awareness to the younger generation then maybe the good outways the bad.
