just wondering what bulbs people are using. i was using the current 10k hqi with pc actinics that came with my fixture. thought it was to white still the colors just didn't pop how i wanted. then went with a 14k coralife. and the colors were basically identical. just curious what bulbs gave out a nice blue spectrum.but not overkill on the blue.

I like the XM 15k. 20k gives corals a nice flourescence but it is very blue looking. Pretty much though you are going to find that everyone has their own preference. For me I had to try a few temps and brands before settling on the XMs, but I don't doubt that I may run into something I like better later on. Luck.
Oh, and if the Coralife is new then it may very well look like a 10k. Usually takes 100hrs before a new bulb 'burns in' and its true colors show.

try the aqualine buske 10000. it is really a 13000k bulb. it provides a nice white white, while allowing the actinics to bring out the colors. 10000k are often very yellow, and unfortunately, the par on 150w mh stinks unless you are using a 10000k. sooooooo, altho you may love the colors, the growth will really suffer

AB 10k bulbs are very nice. With the act. supplementation, my growth is good and colors very nice. I dont like the blue look and am glad I got the AB 10ks. My SPS are doing amazing!!

i've been debating on wether or not the 150 watt hqi is enough light for my system i'm throwing around the idea of getting a 250watt fixture.
