I heard that 2-5 minutes was okay, you kinda just gotta look at the fish, what condition it is in, if it is very sick, you wouldn't want to risk too much shock. I was told that you also have to make the pH about 8.0 by using baking soda.

Yep,It's the emperor. He's back in the hosp,but after three days he's still got a few large Ickies on him. This time I'm determined to keep him in there till he's clean and sober. Like me for one year today. STEVE
Yes, keep that fish in isolation ward with copper for a month! Now that he's been in and out of hospital without ever being fully rid of ick, I am sure the strain of ick is nice and potent by now. Thus, keep him treated for a month, then see how he does.
