what additives for my tank?

i recently hooked up my new prizm skimmer and it is removing all kinds of waste. my hair algae is dying off and my nitrates have been at 0 for the past week and a half. my question is do i still need to do water changes? if so is once a month ok? if i dont still need to do them what should i add? i currently add calcium and iron. it is a FOWLR tank.

Depending on whats in your tank water changes should be enough to replenish anything lost to skimming. I think smaller bimonthly changes are better then once a month.

i cant do bimonthly changes. it has to be either monthly or none at all because i will be at college. but ive heard of people on this board not doing any water changes. i was wondering if it has effected your fish at all, and what do you add to the water?
