What and how do i feed a anemone?

How dose a seabae anemone feed? Is it a filter food out of the water or do I have to feed them something special. Another question, my seabe has been flipping upside down. He tends to open up during the day (Right side up). Then in the evenings he's inverted. I don’t think his base is sticking to anything. When I first put him in, he anchored down in one place for a week. Then my arrow crab and brittle star started to pick at it. I think this upset him enough to move locations. Ever since then the ph’s kind of pushes him around. He’s now in the back corner of my tank.
Thanks for any advice

I've had my sebae for about 2 years now,he (or she)is 11-12" across. When I feed the reef, which is once a week,it grabs food with it's sticky tentacles and works it into it's mouth.DON'T OVERFEED!! Also I remember it was about a month or so before it found a comfortable spot and hasn't moved more than an inch or two since. It sits kind of high in a light to moderate current and has developed a thing with my tomato clown.Hope this helped.

silversides work good.I don't know how often you should feed,They will eat anything that sticks to their tentacles flake food, brine, formula one whatever they grab a hold of including an unsuspecting fish who gets too close.Try to research how often you should feed It is important you don't overfeed.

Thanks for the input! I have been feeding my tank frozen brine shrimp. The brine would stick to the tentacles but it would not draw it in to its mouth. I turn off my ph’s and sump pumps when feeding then after about 1/2 hour later I turn them back on (so I don’t waste food). When the pumps come on, the brine that is in the anemone gets swept away. That’s why I don’t think he's eating. Should I be woried?

If you get him a clown to host the clown will feed him. My clown feeds mine frozen brine. He also does better a little higher up in the tank for lighting, my tank is a 105g tall, maybe that is why. They seem to be a fairly hardy anemone. good luck with yours.
