copepods are motile inverts
they come in different varieties and are usually just called 'pods' they look like tiny bugs or fleas. some are larger and are usually amphipods
there are bad ones too :(

lol :)

Brine shrimp are raised in freshwater. they will generally not live in your tank very long. you could get a pair of peppermint shrimp and when they spawn there are tons of mini shrimps for your fish and corals. or you can buy live mysis shrimp but they are not cheap and dont have a very long life.
hope this helps. its kind of the short version.

Brine shrimp are not a good nutrition source for saltwater fish. Sure, your fish will eat them, but its like a person living on a diet of cheetos

Brine shrimp are from saltwater habitats - it's just that they're not from the ocean. The Great Salt Lake abounds with them - and little else.

The last two photos are of an amphipod and an isopod (a damn big one, too
) - not to be confused with a copepod.
