hey i have a 55 gallon tank and i want to add soft corals to my tank.i have 6 lbs of live rock in there and i plan on getting 50 lbs more,im also getting 48" coralife aqualights that produce 130 watts.what else would i need to keep soft corals alive.like would i need a protein skimmer and some kind of water flow system.any help would be great.

Is that 130 watts total? if so, I would suggest you get better lights than that. power compacts maybe? You will also need a powerhead or two for water flow. Calcium and Alkalinity supplements and test kits. How old is your tank? Any corraline algae growing?

thanks,im only getting soft corals ,the person im getting them from said their corals were fine with the lights.how much are the powerheads and do i need a pump for them or something

Powerheads are basically pumps. They push your water around. Just take them out of the box, stick them in your tank and plug them in.

You also should look into getting a protein skimmer. I noticed you mentioned it, and they are a great piece of equipment to have. You can do without, but I would say almost everyone has one.
Its a good investment!
