You need to post a DIRECT LINK to the hosted image.

Go to the toolbar above your post, select the image icon, then paste the DIRECT LINK information for you image there.

The direct link info should look something like this:

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll73/hixphotobucket/Our%20Fish/blackfinfronton900-1.jpg

Note the URL of the image hosting service (in this case, photobucket), as well as the info within photobucket where your image resides). The link I just posted works "as-is" if you click on it, but if you use the "image" button and paste your image addy there, it adds the pic to the post so it can be seen without clicking on it, like this:

Can't thank you all enough, so very kind. I thought reef tank a bit complex! In the meantime, research leads me to beleive they're Aiptasia.

Flashbacks, I had an Aiptasia Garden like that once. I don't like to think about it though. Tried chemicals, peppermint shrimp, boiling water, electrocution, starving, lights out the works. All seemed to be minor nuisances to the pest in the long run. I would cry for sure.

Been crying. so what happened? And is the aptasia x bad for fish and corals?

Hi,

No, the aptasia X or Joes Juice won't hurt corals or fish...too much added to the tank could harm an anemone maybe. I only use the two methods mentioned, the others, such as boiling water or lemon juice doesn't work and seemed (IMO) to feed them.

The stuff is so prolific, and grows faster then you can squirt them away with JJ or Aptasia X. We usually panic at first discovery and wipe it out ASAP, but you thought they were feather dusters, and let them get a good growth ahead of you. Get the needed juice and begin to squirt right into the open disk without touching any of them....then when you have gotten all you can reach without disturbing them (don't move a rock or rub on them at all) get the peppermint shrimps...then every time you see one crop up...zap it with the juice.

It's important to get every one of them you can reach, they will be the most mature ones... because the peppermints like to eat the tiny ones but the big granddaddy ones they tend to leave alone.

It isn't a tank crash, nor the end of the world, it's just a pest anemone. Cry about it yes, but give up the fight...NO.

Some of that stuff you have to be careful with. I wouldn't treat too much into the tank at any one time. I got tired of messing with it. Spent more time and effort trying to get rid of the aiptasia than I did enjoying the tank. Eventually decided to nuke everything and start over. If you can get a handle on it before it gets real bad like that then you're a lot better off. Good luck.
